It Works!! Tailwind Tribes has Helped Grow my Blog
I started my blog almost a year ago and had no idea what I was doing or where this would lead. I obviously had information I wanted to share with the world but wasn’t sure how to go about doing it. Tailwind Tribes is how I did it.
Almost a year later, I finally feel like I am finding my footing and starting to gain a broader audience than just my friends and family.
And that is thanks to Tailwind Tribes.
When I launched my blog in June last year the most clicks to my blog I got from Pinterest was 19 in one day and I thought that was amazing.
If you have done your research on blogging you know that usually your main sort of traffic will come from Pinterest, depending on your niche.
Well this last month, I have had several days above 40 clicks up into the 50s and I haven’t been using Tailwind Tribes for very long.
And since January I went from 424 Pinterest Followers to over 1000 followers this month.
Some Tailwind Tribe Data
If that doesn’t seem that high, its because I am still learning and still working on my blog itself. There are growing pains. But I wanted to give you all some more data to prove that this works.
In June, after I had launched my blog the highest daily viewers I had was 29,968 to my Pinterest account. In March, I reached 1,196,394 views.
The average daily view for the pins from my blog specifically: November 2018 (they didn’t have June data): 5,072 pin views, and in March 2019: 12,235 pin views.
THAT’S A DAY!!
Imagine what I can do if it can get my click rate that high!
In simple terms the more people I get to view my Pinterest account the more people I get to see my blog. Now the tricky part is making your pins click-worthy pins. This has taken a bit of practice on my end and something I am still working on.
If I can get just 25% of my Pinterest traffic to click through to my blog than I am making good headway. Then it is my turn to use my blog to make money!
Let’s be honest that is the end goal here. I want to be able to make money from blogging. Even if it isn’t full-time money, anything extra will help.
Some Background on ME
I am currently a housewife and military spouse. We just recently moved from Atlanta, GA all the way to Germany. I went from working full-time to unemployed in no time at all. While I had started my blog way before we knew we were leaving or that I would be unemployed, it seemed like the next logical step to actually monetize my blog.
It is something I enjoy doing, and since I have my CrossFit Level 1, I am a coach and can design workouts.
I had also recently started work on my Master’s in Nutrition, with the eventual goal of providing nutritional coaching to my blog in the future.
Now seemed like the best time to set myself up as a blogger and try to make a living even if it just helps with groceries or whatever.
Why Tailwind Tribes
So why did I choose Tailwind Tribes?
It was pretty simple for me. Once I knew I wanted to start a blog I started doing some research and ended up purchasing a course from CreateandGo.co called Launch Your Blog.
And while this course helped me set up my blog and learn the basics it also touched on traffic and mentioned Tailwind Tribes. But it wasn’t until I took their Pinterest Avalanche course that I really started to invest in my blog.
They recommended Tailwind Tribes and I signed up for the FREE Trial. With the results I got in the first 30 days, it was a no brainer for me. If I ever wanted to start making any money I needed to drive traffic and that is exactly what Tailwind Tribes does for me.
Other Added Benefits
Once you start using Tailwind, you get a couple of things even in the free version. I love how easy it makes to schedule pins. I am normally a very busy person and don’t have time to be on Pinterest all day everyday or even work on my blog every day like I would like.
The scheduler makes it extremely easy to pin when traffic is high even if you aren’t available. By sharing to Tribes you are sharing your pin with others in similar niches and the idea is they will also Pin your PIns to their boards.
The group chats also made it so much easier for me to join group boards. It was something I was originally struggling with. Now I am a member of several group boards that I can freely share my content with.
One of the my favorite features is Board Lists, where you can create a list of boards for a given category that you want your pin to be published to. For instance, I write a new Workout of the Week article, and I go to schedule the content to be pinned to Pinterest. I have a designated Board List for Workouts that includes several individual boards including group boards that the content will be pinned to. I can even set up for them to be scheduled on an interval so I am not pinning the same pin 20 times in one day.
Finally Here are some of the Tribes I use:
- Pinterest Friends
- Fitness Tribe
- All Niches! Promote, Grow & Learn
- CrossFit & Fitness Tips
- Health and Fitness
I use some others but these are the ones I have had the most success with.
If you are starting your own blog or just trying to drive more traffic to your current blog, I definitely suggest that you get a Tailwind Tribes account.
