Best CrossFit Shoes for All your Training in 2019 For Women
CrossFit is starting to make a massive impact on the fitness industry including media, gyms, and even clothing and shoes. The 2019 CrossFit Games is right around the corner and with it more excitement!! I am an avid supporter and lover of CrossFit.
I drank the damn Kool-aid.
Now there are more options than ever on gear to use and wear in your local box. And everyone has their favorites and our favorite athletes have their endorsements. It is becoming just like any other major sport.
I am not going to deny that the first CrossFit shoes I bought was completely influenced by my coach and CrossFit athlete Travis Mayer!! No shame in it at all.
In fact I still have the same shoes and am just now looking at replacing them. Or maybe just adding to the collection.
Different Types of CrossFit Shoes
Originally you could only buy real CrossFit shoes through Reebok. Well now Nike has really stepped up in a huge way as well as other companies.
Nowadays, CrossFit athletes have several different pairs of shoes for the different types of events. And while not everyone that goes to a CrossFit class will be an Elite level athlete, many of us still like to use different shoes. I am one of them!!
First you have the overall general CrossFit shoe. This shoe can be used for the majority of your workouts and is very comfortable in all the different areas CrossFit covers.
Then you have the running shoe. Just like athletes that just run, CrossFitters have a running shoe particularly for those day that contain a lot of running.
Next you have the Lifters. These are used for heavy lifting. They are great stabilizers and are often used on max reps and certain weight lifting movements.
Some even have cleats for sprinting or they just play sports that require it. And now some even have cycling shoes. With all the different activities CrossFitters participate in there are definitely shoes to go with each specific thing.
What to Look for in CrossFit Shoes?
Flexibility
For CrossFit your shoes need to be able to move with you through several different types of movement comfortably.
Stability
Because of the weight lifting you want shoes with a solid bottom and not too much cushion so that you can feel the floor.
Durability
Everyone wants their shoes to last. CrossFit shoes need to last through several different types of workouts. You should be able to get about 6 months out of your shoes depending on how active you are.
Comfort
This one is a big one for me. As an ex-college athlete I know it takes a few workouts to get the shoes worked in, but once they are worked in I want my feet to be as comfortable as possible. I’ve hurt my feet before you don’t want to do that.
