Workout of the Week 08/25/18

What a beautiful Saturday it is here in Georgia! Beautiful weather means that it is perfect for a quick workout to get the blood pumping! Its time for the workout of the week.

This week I am adding a few new moves to this weeks workout. Today will give you a shoulder workout. Workout upside down you should try it! LOL

Wall Walks

First new move is called a wall walk. Start in a push-up position with your feet against a wall.  "Walk" your feet up the wall and get your hands as close to the wall as you can with your belly facing the wall, then hold for a second and slowly walk your hands back out.

If this is too difficult for you try first walking your hands back two to three movements. This is just practice and it helps you get used to the movements and strengthens your shoulder. If even that is too hard just substitute for double the number and do shoulder press with dumbbells.

Med Ball Slams

The second new movement is Med-ball slams. In this movement, you pick up a medicine ball and lift it above your head then slam it down on the ground. Throw it down as hard as you can even hinging at your hips and using your core to help with the power.

A scaling option for this movement is just to lower the weight of the medicine ball you are using.

Please be advised as with any exercise program that if you have issues with your shoulders these can be difficult to preform and I don't want anyone to injure themselves. Please use safety first.

I decided to throw in burpees and running to keep it spicy! As listed in the previous explanation of the movements a wall of some sort, as well as a medicine ball weight of your choice, are needed for this workout. (Dumbbells if you chose to scale).
