Workout of the Week 11/18/2018

I have been out of it for a couple weeks. Haven’t been feeling very well and we have had a lot going on. But I would be remiss if I didn’t post this workout of the week. Last week I got busy and didn't post the workout but I will later this week. I have had a lot of stuff going on and will tell you all everything shortly but for now this workout should keep you plenty busy. I realize that next week is Thanksgiving and people have a lot going on as well so hopefully this will be a quick workout to get the blood flowing before you stuff your face with turkey. For this workout no equipment is needed just some space. I would suggest a quick warm up just to warm up the muscles.

The Movements

The first movement will be push-ups. We have talked about them before but the chest is to go to the ground before coming back up. Scaling options would be to start from the knee or against a counter. The second movement is sit ups. There isn’t a true scale for these but if for some reason you can’t do sit-ups like for pregnancy I would switch to plank and do seconds instead or number of reps. Increase it to what you feel would take you to do the number of sit-ups. The last movement is the air squat. Your hips should go below your knees when you squat down. Try keeping your back up right and head up with your weight on your heels.

20 Minute AMRAP

  • 5 Push-ups
  • 10 Sit-ups
  • 15 Squats

This is designed to just make you work. I know everyone has a lot going on including traveling for the holidays but if you can take 20 minutes out of your day then you can get in a workout. If you can’t do 20 minutes then do 15 minutes or 10 just something to get you moving. Soon you will be eating all the fun thanksgiving food and will get the itis afterwards so I suggest working out at the beginning of the day to get it out of the way. Plus all your family will make smart remarks about how dedicated you are and it really wasn’t that hard!
