7 Healthy Habits for Busy People in 2019
Everyone knows that New Years is time for New Years Resolutions. The most common being weight loss and financial growth. But I think a good way to look at it is to create healthy habits for the New Year.
The better habits you create the easier it is to reach other goals such as weight loss. It takes about 21 days to create a new habit so don't give up! It is not always easy but it will get that way.
I have made a list of some healthy habits that you should incorporate into your New Year New Me regiment.
7 Healthy Habits
- Drink More Water- It is scientifically proven that you need to drink about 64 oz of water a day. This is not include any water loss from exercise. So drink up??
- Exercise!-It's recommended to move at least 30 minutes a day. but I would suggest Actively working out 3-5 days a week and make sure you get some sort of movement in at least 30 minutes a day.
- Get more Sleep!!-The recommend amount of sleep is 7-8 hrs. Most adults struggle to achieve this. I promise you will feel more energized and therefore get more things done if you get the recommended amount of sleep your body needs.
- Get some SUN!!-Direct sunlight is great for your health! Vitamin D does so many wonderful things include help with your mood! I still suggest sun screen but don't be locked inside all day without going outside!
- Plan your Meals-The easiest way to stick to a nutrition program is to plan your meals and meal prep accordingly. If you get in a habit of this it helps reduce the fast food runs and cravings.
- Unplug for at least an hour-This is supposed to be per day, but I try to unplug for at least 2-3 on the weekends and about 30 minutes a day. Being a blogger and working full time and a mom makes this habit harder but it does help reduce some stress.
- Eat meats & vegetables, nuts & seeds, some fruit, little fruit and NO sugar- This is the simplest way to think about nutrition. While start and fruit contain sugar, the purpose is no added sugar.
How to Implement them
The simplest way to implement forming a new habit is to plan. I plan my week out and sometimes my month out in advance. It makes life so much easier and helps you prepare for life.
If you get home late and don't have time to cook, its nice to have a meal prepped and saves a trip to McDonald's. Planning is not going to fix every issue but it definitely makes life easier.
