Workout of the Week 2/16/2020
I am so excited to share this Workout of the Week with you all!! It has been an amazing week and I am so excited about all the things that are coming. Over the next several weeks, I will be extremely busy so if something slips through the cracks I am apologizing in advance!!
This week we are really going to start working on getting our beach bodies ready. Spring Break is just around the corner and then shortly after that is Summer Break. Beaches and pools are in our futures!!
So we are going to go into more of a high burn, high-intensity type of workout. So for today, all you will need is your jump rope and some space.
Movements
First, there are double unders. This is when the jump rope passes below your feet twice in one jump, hence the term double unders.
Next are burpees, one of our favorite cardio movements. For this you will start in a standing position, then bring your hands down to the ground near your feet as you jump your feet backward. This will put you in a plank position, from here do a push-up making sure that your chest touches the ground. Then you will jump your feet back up to your hands and then stand all the way up and finish with a jump clapping your hands over your head.
And lastly, there is running. Measure out 100 meters, then run there and back. Or map out the easiest way for you to get 200 meters in.
Workout of the Week
4 Rounds For Time:
- 200 DUs
- 20 Burpees
- Run 200 m
Scaling options would be to switch to single unders, or if you have DUs but aren’t quite as efficient then reduce the number or set a time cap for practice. I would recommend 4 minutes max for practice. Scaling options for the burpees would be to do it without the pushup or to do the push up at an angle against a bench or wall.
I hope you all enjoy this workout and the new style of workouts for a short period as we all get ready for the summer. If you really like this workout please go to our programs page and check out some of our available programs for sale, including customized workout programs.
