Workout of the Week 5/31/2020
What a month May has been! It is the end of the Month and the last Workout of the Week post for May. And to be honest I have taken a bit of a break from the blogging world.
But I am back and ready for an exciting month in June. The world is starting to open back up, some places more quickly than others. While I don't think we will get to have the same summer as last year I am still looking forward to more exploring.
Now its time for the workout. For today's workout, you will need a set of dumbbells and a plyo-box.
Movements
For box jumps, start with both feet on the floor facing the box shoulder-width apart. Jump up on to the plyo-box, jumping off of both feet at the same time and landing on both feet. Then, make sure to stand all the way up at the top of the box. You can step down or jump down before going again.
For DB Clean and Jerks start with the weight on the ground, with your knees slightly bent like you're about to do a deadlift. Then you will bring the weights up starting with a deadlift going into a high pull and then flipping your elbows under the weight. Once the weight is at your shoulders in a front rack position, you will slightly bend your knees and use the power to push the weights overhead. Make sure to lock out your arms and be in full standing position.
Workout of the Week
10 Min AMRAP
- 10 Box Jumps
- 10 DB Clean and Jerks
Scaling options would be to do step ups instead of box jumps. And to lower the weight for the DB Clean and Jerks. I use 20 lb. dumbbells.
