Workout of the Week 6/7/2020

It is time for the Workout of the Week again. I am excited as June continues because we are getting to go outside more. The warmer weather brings more outdoor activities.

While this month is sure to keep me busy with school, work and the blog, I am very excited to keep growing my blog and I have some exciting news to share!!

I am officially an ambassador for FABLETICS!!! I love my Fabletics leggings and have not purchased another name brand since I signed up as a VIP over a year ago. Basically, if you click on my link HERE and sign up for a VIP membership, that I will get paid a small fee and that will help me run this blog!

Ok but now it's time to workout. For today's workout, you will need a set of dumbbells, a jump rope and either a plyobox or chair.

Movements

For DB Cleans, start with the weight on the ground, with your knees slightly bent like you're about to do a deadlift. Then you will bring the weights up starting with a deadlift going into a high pull and then flipping your elbows under the weight. Make sure to come up to a full standing position before repositioning the weights.

Next, Bench Dips require either a plyo-box or a chair. You start with your sitting on the box, then place your hands down on it right next to your hips with the fingers forward to grip. Then, with your feet out in front of you, lift your body off the bench and dip until your elbows reach 90 degrees. Make sure your bench is high enough that you don't end up sitting on the ground.

Lastly, there are double unders. This is when the jump rope passes below your feet twice in one jump, hence the term double unders.

Workout of the Week

4 Rounds for Time

  • 30 DB Power cleans
  • 20 Dips
  • 100 DUs

Scaling options would be to first lower the weight one the dumbbells. I use 20 lb. dumbbells. To scale the dips you can bend your knees to make the dips a bit easier as you build your strength. For the double unders, scale down to singles and increase the number to 200.

I hope you enjoyed this workout!
