Workout of the Week 8/2/2020
Good Morning everyone! I am back!! I had to take a bit of a hiatus to get my life organized and find a new normal. Obviously COVID has affected everyone differently. My family and I are no different and we have had to make adjustments. Including pausing the Workout of the Week posts.
That includes trying to figure out my blog, work, education, and training to fit with my family and home life. I still don't have all the answers but I am ready to start trying out different schedules so bare with me as we try to figure this out.
With that being said I am bringing back our Workout of the Week. For today's workout, you will need a KB and some space.
Movements
First, there is running. I would suggest measuring out 100 m and running there and back.
Then there are Push-ups. For these start in the plank position and go down so your chest touches the ground and then push all the way back up. Keep your back straight and try not to worm your way back up.
For the goblet squats, hold the KB at your chest. Start with your feet shoulder-width apart. Then squat down until your hip crease is below your knee crease, making sure to keep your weight on your heels and your knees tracking out over your toes. Also, keep your chest up. Then come back to a full standing position.
Next are KB swings. For these start standing over the KB with it between your legs that are shoulder-width apart. Pick it up, then bending your knees slightly swing the KB overhead using the strength from your legs and hips. The bottom of the KB should face the sky directly about your head before you bring it back down.
Workout of the Week
15 Min. AMRAP
- 200 m Run
- 6 Push-ups
- 12 Goblet Squats
- 18 KB Swings
Scaling options would be to walk instead of run. Push-ups can be done from the knee or at an angle against a counter, bench or wall. The next would to be scale the weight of the KB. I have a 25 lb. KB.
