Mid-Year Goal Setting and Review 2019

So I really should have done this last month, but let’s be honest I have been slacking. But it is time to do a Mid-year goal review of the ones that I set at the beginning of the year and set some more for the remainder of the year.

Setting goals can be a tricky subject, as they can change or evolve with you. Life happens and things change and with them so do your goals. And there is nothing wrong with that.

It is all about assessing and adjusting and moving forward.

I will be the first to say that I have very much missed the mark on some of my goals, but my life changed drastically from when I originally wrote them. So you are going to see several :( this post. On the other hand, we are going to be setting new ones!!

New Year Goals 2019

If you have been following along with me for a while you might have seen the post I wrote at the beginning of the year on my goals. If not you can find it here, Reflection and Goal Setting for the New Year

When I created this I did a review of 2018 and set goals for 2019. The goals I created fell into three categories: Fitness, Family and Personal Growth

Fitness Goals:

My fitness goals were set with the intentions of me staying in Atlanta, GA for the entire year, staying in the same CrossFit box with the same coaches and friends. Moving across the world and having my world turned upside down has changed these.

So for the goals list were pull-ups, push-ups and handstand push-ups for body weight movements and to increase my cardio capacity.

These are still goals for this year, however I actually probably took a few steps backwards. Well there is no actually I know I have. I have felt it. I have missed out on so much gym and even at home workouts that I am kind of ashamed.

But I still want to get better by the end of the year.

Family Goals:

We didn’t do horrible here. I started school and am about to finish my second trimester, the hubby graduated with his Bachelor’s and is researching Master’s programs, and we have enrolled Shamar in Pre-K. The difference here is that Shamar isn’t guaranteed a spot in Pre-K like we were in GA.

We also wanted to start saving to buy a house. That really hasn’t been started yet mainly because our funds that we had saved went to help us move and the period I was unemployed. However, we are going to continue to aim towards this and hoping our next move is our last.

Personal Growth:

I did launch my 28 Day workout program and the content is good but I didn’t have the traffic or the write sales platform to really launch it like I should have. It was a rookie mistake but I have definitely learned. I now plan on re-launching and revamping it.

I have found another platform that I think will work better. And it will help me to promote it better. Another goal was gaining affiliates and partners to work with. This has been something I have done some work with and you will start to see it roll out soon. But I really need to work on Growth and reaching more viewers.

What good is writing articles on herbal remedies and other health and fitness related issues if they aren’t getting to the people who need them the most.

MID-YEAR GOLA SETTING

Goal Setting and Adjustments

So for the remainder of the year I plan on really grinding and focusing on the goals that I had set at the beginning of the year. My goals haven’t changed much just altered to my situation.

I plan to work on a YouTube channel as well as other means to help get out my health and fitness tips to more people. While a goal is to monetize my blog I still want to offer great information for free to those who need it most.
